Tjugodedag Jul

Today Emma made a hat at school to celebrate  the day of taking down the Christmas tree. It's called tjugondedag Jul. Which translates to the 20th day of Christmas. It's actually tomorrow, but she isn't in school tomorrow. 🌲

Sledding

The kids both enjoyed some time with their friends and we did some sledding at Björnön and then roasted hotdogs, drank hot chocolate, and had a picnic around the fire. Very fun!

Home (Illinois) for Christmas

Recently, after Johnny posted he was traveling to Germany, I had someone come to the door who knew my name, that I only speak English (all before talking to me), and asked about 'an ad he saw about a camera for sale'. It was a bit unsettling and prompted us to no longer post about where we are when out of town.

Yesterday we got back from a two week stay in Chicago for Christmas. We got to do a lot and see a lot of people. We are so thankful to have spent some time with family.

The flight there and back was rather uneventful (considering we had three kids with us and we traveled across the world). TSA isn't too fond of one packing three packages of corn bread mix, brownie mix, bread crumbs, candy, etc. I was selected for extra security because of that, which is still worth it to bring those items home!

Jet lag kicked our butts going both ways! We had about 3 to 4 days of being really sleepy all day in Illinois and then coming home to Sweden, we were unable to fall asleep at a decent hour and wanted to sleep until lunch. As a grown up, it sucks...as a child (or the parent of said jet lagged child) it sucks even more! :)

Here is Jack one afternoon when we just couldn't keep the kid awake any longer!
